Who We Are

Built in 1888, this oldest building in Pomona has witnessed the rises and falls of this amazing city. Through decades it has represented the spirit of Pomona City and now we are open our arms to embrace brothers and sisters who believe.

“‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. 3 Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them. 4 And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.’” – Ezra 1:2-4

Pomona Holy Church is the first sanctuary built in Pomona City, it has seen through 131 years and 6 owners. It is now rebuilt to its glory with the help of donors from different industries, who are just like Cyrus king of Persia, giving out to rebuild the sanctuary. Ezra had witnessed and recorded history, he led the exiled Jews back to their home. God did not forget about them; they were given the chance to rebuild their sanctuary 70 years after they were exiled.

My second grandson is also named Ezra. I bought the church when he was a year old, having the faith that I will bring it back to glory no matter how tough it would be and how long it would take. When Ezra gets older, I will be proud to tell him rebuilding the church has been grandpa’s greatest wish. – Andrew Hwang/Owner
