What is the goal of life to pursue – Philippians 4:12-13 Paul said [I know how to be humble, and I know how to be rich; be full, or hungry, or have excess, or lack, whatever Wherever I am, I have the secret. I can imitate all things through him who strengthens me.] Paul reminds us that even if you gain the whole world, what you have will not stand in the face of death. Everything you pursued, but when that day came, you found that none of those things worked, and they all collapsed and returned to nothing in the face of death. It came and went empty. Everything you had ended up being nothing. At that moment, you regret, you are annoyed, you cry, but there is nothing. It is not that wealth is bad, but it is definitely not the most important first pursuit. People in the world seem to have a lot and are busy, but they do not know what they want in the future. Where are you going. Christians know that at the end of my life there is a kingdom of glory waiting for us. Knowing the future is our greatest joy. Jesus said “You good and faithful servant…come in and enjoy The joy of your master.” Matthew 25:23. So that was all that mattered to Paul, who seemed to have nothing but had everything. He who seemed poor was richer than many. Why did Paul live so much, because in him there is a glorious hope and promise. With this glorious hope and promise, it surpasses everything else in the world.
