The reversal is the conversion between thoughts and righteous actions – Romans 1:17 [For the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel. This righteousness comes from faith to faith. As it is written: The righteous shall live by faith.] The so-called scripture refers to Habakkuk 2:4 in the Old Testament [The Calebs exalted themselves and their hearts were not upright, but the righteous shall live by faith.] This is the most famous book of Habakkuk. Scripture. It is obvious that the behavior of the Chaldeans was arrogance. But how do you know that the Chaldeans are “not upright in heart”? Is it judged from their words and deeds? Paul only uses the phrase “the righteous are justified by faith.” Does Paul not care about works but only about faith? Should the focus of the gospel be on works or on faith? How should we define faith and behavior? Faith is the cause and behavior is the effect, and the two should complement each other. In addition to faith, the gospel should also include righteous behavior. Otherwise, Habakkuk would not specifically point out that “the Chaldeans were arrogant and their hearts were not upright.” The conclusion of “but the righteous shall live by faith”. When interpreting the scriptures, we cannot take them out of context. Paul’s statement “by faith, to faith” seems to rule faith in everything and exclude righteous behavior. Little does he know that what Habakkuk said The original Greek word for “to live” means “to live out a certain way of behavior.” Don’t we need righteous behavior to survive? If there is a cause, there must be an effect. Of course we cannot regard the effect as the cause, but we cannot only talk about the cause and ignore the effect. Can a bird with one wing fly?
