Forgetting What Is Behind – Philippians 3:13-14 [But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.] [Explanation] Remember to close the door behind you. Learn to let go of past mistakes and failures. Don’t dwell in regret and sorrow but move forward toward the goals God has set for you. When you do this, you’ll realize that every day is the start of a new life. Dwelling on past achievements can lead to pride, while dwelling on past failures and weaknesses can cause discouragement and prevent progress. Forgetting doesn’t mean erasing memories of the past or God’s grace; it means intentionally refusing to let those memories or blessings hinder your focus on future salvation and growth in faith, love, and hope. [Prayer] Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for giving us new life through rebirth, for setting life’s goals and a heavenly prize before us. Although life is not always smooth, we have no fear because You are with us in the boat. Lord, help us to forget past failures and sorrows and to focus wholeheartedly on moving forward. May we press on toward You until we meet You face to face and receive Your commendation. In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray. Amen!
