劈柴挑水—-路加福音16:10［人在最小的事上忠心, 在大事上也忠心. 在最小的事上不義, 在大事上也不義.］當馬禮遜Robert Morrison到中國傳道時, 他要求差會加派一位同仁. 後來只有米爾尼William Miline一人來報名. 當時差會見他奇貌不揚, 學識不高, 就決定用為難的問題拒絕他. 他們對他說”這次所招考的不是傳福音的, 乃是去幫助傳道人劈柴挑水.” 沒想到米爾尼竟說”如果主叫我去劈柴挑水, 我也是感激不盡.” 他們沒有辦法, 就把他派到中國. 結果他後來竟成為歷史上著名的宣教士. 他和馬禮遜牧師合作, 將聖經翻譯成中文. ［思考］人都注重大事, 而忽略小事. 可是小事都做不好, 又怎能成大事呢？人在小事上的表現, 足以反應他的為人與處事. 主耶穌所看重的是人在小事上是否忠心？ 是否重情重義及守法？我們要學好劈柴挑水, 做一位忠心誠實的好僕人.［禱告］親愛的父神, 我們是按祢的形象所受造的. 感謝祢賜給我們智慧與能力, 不論大事小事都能忠心事奉祢. 感謝祢的話語教導我們. 做一位忠心的僕人. 求主幫助我們, 不單單追求做大事, 在小事上更加要盡心盡力盡忠. 因為祢能夠藉著我們所做的小事成就祢的美意, 同時也成就了大事. 感謝祢垂聽我們的祈求. 禱告是奉主耶穌基督的名, 阿們！
