Honesty and Godliness – Job 15:31 [He does not need to rely on falsehoods to deceive himself, for falsehoods will become his retribution.] [Story] There was a child who was lazy and loved to lie. One day, he clamored for his mother to make new shoes. After giving him clothes, his mother said, “As long as you get rid of the bad habit of lying, and help me dry the piles of rice on the field, and pile them into piles at night, I will make them for you right away.” The child agreed and went out. When he came back in the evening and asked for shoes, his mother told him to make them tomorrow and told him to dry the rice tomorrow. The same thing happened on the second and third days. The child got anxious and asked, “I have been drying rice for three days, but the shoes are not ready yet. You lied to me.” The mother said, “Son, my mother never lied to you, and it’s you who lied to me. You haven’t gone to dry the rice in the past three days. The shoes I made are placed in the grain pile. You can get them as soon as you do it.” [Thinking] Do we often live in the bad habits of vanity and lies, but blame God for not listening to our requests? But God is faithful and never lies. His blessings will be given to our obedient children. [Prayer] Dear Heavenly Father God, You are a faithful and reliable Lord. You promise to give us the grace and blessings. , never break your promise. But you also ask us to worship you in spirit and truth, obey your words, and obey your ways. Please help us, Lord, to be honest children, not to rely on falsehood, but to be reverent and pious. My heart follows you and obeys your will. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
