Slow to Anger — Proverbs 14:29 & 15:28 [Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.] [A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.] [Explanation] Are you often quick to react impulsively? Proverbs teaches us to be slow to anger and slow to react emotionally. One practical method is this: when you feel anger rising, recite the Lord’s Prayer silently before taking any action. Staying calm provides space for thoughtful consideration, while acting impulsively can cause significant harm to yourself and others. Matthew 5:9 says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” God calls us to follow the example of His Son, Jesus. Even if making peace comes at a cost, God will compensate you in His perfect way. [Prayer] Dear Heavenly Father, reverence for You is the beginning of wisdom. Grant us the wisdom to be calm and self-controlled, keeping You always in our hearts. Help us to face any situation with patience, refraining from quick anger and avoiding conflict that could harm ourselves and others. Let our lives be a beautiful testimony to Your love and grace. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
